Help Shape the Future of Sensory Loss Support in Merton

MertonVision is seeking a new Trustee with lived, personal or professional experience of deafness to join its Board and help shape the future of sensory loss services in Merton.
For many years, MertonVision has provided trusted support to blind and visually impaired children and adults across the borough. As the organisation expands its services to support Deaf and hard of hearing residents, it is looking to strengthen its Board with new perspectives, skills and experience.
This is an opportunity to play an active role in guiding the strategic direction of a respected local charity while ensuring the voices and experiences of Deaf and hard of hearing people are reflected in decision-making at every level.
MertonVision would particularly welcome applications from people who are Deaf or hard of hearing themselves, and from those with personal or professional experience of deafness.
As a Trustee, you will:
• Help shape the organisation's future direction and priorities
• Bring insight that informs inclusive and effective services
• Support strong governance and decision-making
• Champion the needs and aspirations of people with sensory loss in Merton
The role is voluntary and unpaid.
A qualified BSL interpreter will be arranged for applicants who require one.
Closing date: Midday, 21st June 2026 Interviews: Week commencing 27th June 2026
